Re: Chatellerault switchblade marked T F BASTET AMSTERDAM
I'm from Amsterdam in The Neherlands. Bastet was one of the oldest cutlery stores around there for over threehundred years. It's history goes all the way back to the 1600's. It closed in 1984. They were famous for dealing (or making???) table spoons, forks and knives to the Royal Family. The first time that I see a switchblade with Amsterdam stamped in it. It is most probably made in Belgium. They had a way much bigger cutlery industry.

I’m just wondering about the rust and the green oxidation. Shouldn’t that rust be removed? It’s only damaging the knife.? I think it should be restored at least cleaned up the rust.

Re: Chatellerault switchblade marked T F BASTET AMSTERDAM
I cleaned it up minimally - the surface rust and green oxidation, you can see it minimally cleaned up in some of the pictures. My main concern was not losing the T F BASTET AMSTERDAM mark on the blade.
