For the Schrade fans...
Ok...so not everybody loves the Italian knives. Here's a nifty little Schrade Candystripe that I picked up in Eugene a couple of years ago. It looks as though it just came from the factory.

Thanks guys...yeah that's a beauty. Just like new. Here's another shot of it.
They don't get much nicer than that. This is what I picked up this year. Its a mint Queen Cutlery toothpick. These are similar to the Hammer and Imperial knives, but much higher quality. They use the same type of plunger release you find on the Latama square button. I passed this up two years ago and kicked myself around the block the entire year. This year I pounced on the poor dealer as he was trying to set up his table. He still had it...now its all MINE!! MINE...do you hear me...MINE! Oops...sorry, got carried away there. Michael B.
Here's a close up of the notch in the blade.

Hi Gloria...nice to see you over here, too. Boy, you know, since that's the only knife I have with that type of handle, I'm really not an expert. I can tell you what I've done since it seems to be in pretty good shape. Don't let it sit in direct sun for any length of time, so it won't fade or dry out. When I got it, I wiped it down with a chamois, polished the blade and bolsters with some SimiChrome, then applied Renaissance Wax. After that, I buffed it a bit with a soft cloth and put it way. And I wipe it down after handling it just to get rid of the oils and acids from my fingers.Whats the best way to store such a knife with that kind of handle ?
More Ren Wax every so often. Other than that...nothing special.

WOW Switchblade9 you really know your stuff, Im not a knife expert so I'l ask a question that everyone already seems to know the answer to, why are some knives called toothpicks
