9" Picklock-Ram Horn
Jim and I had a brief conversation on the use of ram horn as scale material on vintage picklocks recently. I mentioned the stamps that appeared to be prevalent in the use was Mauro Mario, ROMO, S.M.Co. and B. Svoboda, as far as my personal observations. Today, I was doing my inspection/oiling in a box of knives I hadn't touched in a while, and ran across this 9" (23cm) 1950's picklock with a "generic" MADE over ITALY stamp that's scaled in ram horn. Is it possible that these stamps were all contracted through the Mauro Mario Company is what they have in common with the use of this material in the 1950's? The list of stamps using it, is rather short. Can anyone think of others?

Very nice horn! I have a couple, but neither has horn that nice! Thx for sharing!
