Figures. I was a bit interested but thought cheap and since I don't really buy toys often wanted a set of eyes that know the real deal. Thanks sir. Greg

 An obvious, personal "dig", created on a Chinese copy. Once a Chinese counterfeit, etch removed and new one added.

Yessir! I remember reading about that Chad endeavor somewhere, many, many moons ago!

I considered buying it for the novelty of it all but years from now there won't be anybody to recognize that novelty, then it'll just be yet another Chinese copy.

Plus, I'd be embarrassed to pay that amount for it!

It seems to me that etching your name on a counterfeit speaks volumes about your character....or am I missing something?

Leverlettos.com is not in use anymore but 6-8 years ago it sent you to a page from the roadside imports guy. I don’t know what the point of that was.

The "Roadside Imports guy" was Jonathon Benson.

Benson sold many faked knives as genuine. He was also a very unlikeable man, as anyone who ever had a problem with him could attest to. The person that built all his counterfeit knives was Chad Ruben. Ruben to this day is still mangling knives and selling them to people who don't know better.

When I took offense to their dishonesty, I incurred the wrath of both. Benson started selling Chinese clones of the Leverletto, and acquired the Leverlettos.com web site name. I already had Leverletto.com, which was directed to the AKC site.

I was told that Benson was arrested for manslaughter some years ago, leaving Ruben with quite a few parts. I understand Ruben is now assembling knives for Dolphins. Perhaps they don't know his past. Perhaps no one else is dull enough to think importing autos is a good idea. Ruben is saying that Benson was arrested over knives, and that I was the one who filed complaints about him. This is a complete fabrication.

Many people, myself included, have worked to legitimize automatic knife collecting, and have worked to legalize it. Those two reveled in the illegal aspect of knives-something akin to the thought process of a 15 year old boy. They gave/give automatic knife collecting a bad name.

All a man really has is his reputation.
