I just bought a Benchmade Claymore OTF.
It had a stiff action and it is difficult to close. It does, however, have a CPM-D2 tool steel dagger-type blade that took a razor-sharp edge with my Spyderco Tri-Angle "Sharpmaker".
I truly like the feather-light Grivory handle and the snappy action. I want to GP Knives and bought one for $280.00 instead of the $360.00 on Blade HQ.
Try it, YOU"LL LIKE IT!

Sammy,
I have been "off the grid" for a while. There's no Internet service at home, so I have to do this from work. I am working for the "premiere" Armed Security Service for the Portland, OR metropolitan area. (We train our officers for 400 hours instead of 40 hours before they "hit the streets").
Additionally, we handle EDP, provide CPR, and First Aid, and even administer NARCAN (Naloxone) to interrupt an Opiate overdose.
We also pay them better than any other outfit in the State of Oregon. Our officers have body cams, GPS transmitters in our patrol vehicles, and much, much more.
We do everything the local police and sheriff's officers do. Our response times are often quicker. This saves lives and protects property better than the Portland Police Bureau. (They won't even answer property crime calls any longer).
This should give you a clue as to my role as a Sales Agent.

Gravknife,
These OTF daggers are CPM-D2 Tool Steel, hardened to 62 Rockwell Hardness. Contrary to popular belief, they are real "workhorse" knives that can cut, slash, and stab too.
I'm glad to see you are still alive, brother!

Just been reading a bit about them Scott .
Benchmade have always made good knIves.
I only have what I class as showy otf knives ,would have loved something a bit sturdier in build and blade quality like yours .
Glad you snagged it mate .,a good buy seen them as high as $400 .

Ian,
Our offices are 7 miles from the Benchmade plant. I was there this morning pitching our Call Response services for the company. I appreciate thier product, but they pushed for Gun Control so that the Oregon Legislature wouldn't bother the Automatic Knife industry.
Most of us are still very angry about that, but it didn't stop me from buying the knife. Trust me, the Buck company (in Idaho Falls, ID) produces excellent automatic knives as well as Manual openers.
I am blesesd by God, having been born in the U.S. of A.
I wish that you lived here.

In my opinion gun control is hitting the target! It's not the gun it's who's shooting it. One bad apple ruins it for every body. Kinda went overboard this year and now have 3 ar15's, ain't life grand.

I've had 7 ak's over the years and the nicest one was a Polytec, if I remember correctly, it had a milled receiver. Little heavier than the stamped ak but it sure was a looker. Traded it for a Colt hbar that was the most accurate ar I ever owned. If I kept every gun I ever had I'd have to build an extra room on the house.

Well, I'd at least need a third cabinet.

I sell tools to Benchmade and the other knife manufacturers in your area; Kershaw, Leatherman Tool Group and all the way out to Buck and Chris Reeves in ID... all pretty cool facilities
Here's the lobby at Kershaw in Tualatin OR

I need to speak with Kershaw about their Security arrangements.
Edit: I called them and received "short shrift" from Kershaw.

Definition of Shrift.
Confession, especially to a priest.
Short shrift:
It is an attitude of, "It's nice to meet you. We'll accept your business card and get in touch with you if we're interested." (Rapid, and unsympathetic, dismissal).
Here's your hat, what's your hurry?
