Couple more Americans repaired
I was able to score a fair condition Candy Stripe, after a button/sear change and minor cleaning, it is back up and running. This one is the last I needed to complete my display board.
I also made and installed a kick spring on the little Imperial, second one of these I repaired. Those parts are little!
Now off to the wood shop to make a custom frame for the display board!

Re: Couple more Americans repaired
Well, that’s just all kinds of nice!
What’s up with white #4 (starting at bottom end, clockwise)?
It looks like notches/serrations on the top of the blade..

Some of them had the Fish Scaler ridge back.
Manual folders had a plain clip point blade.
and the second blade had a bottle opener "C",
the tip was a hook remover ( looked like a letter "Y" )
and instead of a second blade there was the ridged edge fish scaler.
attached photos show areproduction card made by " Ulf"
and the knives are "Desktop's" collection.
where you can see better the fish scaler edge on some.
and my personal Sportsman Candystripe, with an Imperial Manual folder.
in a box with my drawings under the Lid.
I always get confused what to call this knife.
Is it a "toothpick" . . I have a boxed set of manual toothpicks called "Toothpicks"
but i had a guy saying a "toothpick is a spear blade non-folding Bowie Knife.
So I sort of stopped calling them "Toothpicks". . .
or is it the "Hammer-Brand Sportsmaster"
or is it a "Fishing Knife"

Is that display thing an original or did you make one and scuff it up to look older?

Robb, I’ve worked on some of these “Americans, if I can acquire them inexpensively. What is your choice material to use to fabricate new kick springs?

A nice Utility Jack I found this week. The “fire brick” shell handle “wrap” is my favorite!

Both display boards above are the definition of cool. Those puppies belong in a glassed window box in the center of the living room! Very nice!!

Rarely see utility jacks in any color for sale.
Re: Couple more Americans repaired
Sorry Millern, I haven't looked at this post for a couple months.
I use old springs, reform/size them then reheat treat them.
I have a few different sized springs from various places that are 25+ years old so the steel should be decent for kick springs.
What I need to do is, keep a size chart of the springs and as time allows make a bunch of them to keep on a shelf!!
If you get a few repairable knives you end up wanting to sell, let me know!
Thanks
Robb
