New From Renzo Pascotto
Modern Master Renzo Pascotto, now 84 or 85, is still at it with his newest, completely handmade, creation of a "Slant" or "Old Fashion" switchblade! Big time heavy duty knives made at six pieces 9", and six pieces 11" limited run. I was fortunate enough to acquire this 11" specimen (#4) in horn. 5mm "D" stamped, 2-piece slip in style spring, nickel silver hardware. What a hunk of steel for a flat grind shank of a blade! Nice Brazilian horn scales polished like slabs of gemstones. Unlike the button open/button close models in 8" and 9" from the 70's, Renzo Pascotto created these as picklocks, and it sure takes two fingers to pick that heavy lock tab. Just a really nice piece and I'm so glad Renzo Pascotto is still at it!...

Chris - that is gorgeous - and 5mm as well! Given that (for me at least) knives like these these are collector pieces and not for carry and use, heavy is good. Great addition to the collection.

Looks like your growing collection has another beauty added to it.
Looks a beast ,but with panache ,and although it needs to be a drawer queen ,would probably be a robust user to those who could afford to risk it,
Hope your well m8 .,great knife.!

Fan-fooking-tastic piece of art that is...thanks sir for the sweet pics and knowledge about Pascotto's work. I too am curious as to the weight of that sucker. Looks like it's built like a tank, and while it's obviously not a user there's no question it could do the work! Very pretty piece!
I don't have any slants in my collection but this has left me wanting one for some reason!!
