Info I found elsewhere and saved:
B. Svoboda
Liberty Organization (Importer?)
Montrose, California
c1950 until at least 1997
B SVOBODA was a brand name of the Ring Cutlery Company of California that imported knives from Germany and was a part of the Liberty Organization. Solingen Cutlery B SVOBODA are Hand Made and Extremely Rare Switchblade Automatics from Germany.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Copied from Blade Forums:
Mr. B. Svoboda was the founder of the cutlery wholesaler called Liberty Organization, in Montrose, California, established circa 1950. I used to know his first name, but I forgot. This knife was made for his firm by one of the contract manufacturers in Solingen. They made virtually identical knives for all comers, so you will see similar knives with a variety of brands.
----------------------------------------------------------------
I think these knives were made by Angelo Campolin. My guess is based on the fact that my 16cm picklock with a B.SVOBODA boxed tang stamp and my 16cm picklock with a RING CUTLERY B.SVOBODA tang stamp were both purchased directly from him.
Both are the same pattern: slender bodies like the 16cm knives made by Oreste DiBon. And like my 16cm MAURO MARIO.
I have two other 16cm picklocks stamped B.SVOBODY that are exact twins of my 16cm ROSCO. These are 16cm in length but have slightly wider scales, liners and blades, and use the same top and bottom bolsters from 18cm knives.
I call these two 16cm patterns Skinny Girls and Chubby Girls. I don't know who made the Chubbies.

Angelo had commented on one of my B. Svoboda/Svobody knives on a different platform quite a while back ...

These knives also tell us quite a bit about the "Svoboda/Svobody" mystery.
The knives are marked "Svoboda," and the boxes "Svobody."

Svoboda / Svobody could just be an Italian / European language thing.
As in (the person) vs (the family)
In Lithuanian, the last name Balevicz, a family name. ( Buh - Lev - itch )
is changed to Balevicius for a man as in Mr. Balevich
and is changed to Baleviciene for a married woman as in Mrs. Balevich.
My last name in Slovak "Katrencik" . . . (Kat - tren - sick . . .or Kat - tren- chick )
is often said "Katrencikova" when speaking of the family in general in the old country.
