Re: Finished one for me.
That's a really great looking knife. Scales are terrific. And I really like the coin edge liners. The coin edge liners strike me as not a usual feature for a German made knife. Mostly seen on French knives. As I don't collect German knives, am I wrong about that?

Re: Finished one for me.
It can be done several ways-
by hand-each cut done separately.
With a checkering file.
With a knurling wheel.
The knurling tool is the easiest.

That was close to the quote used by George Smith Patton when referring to a "pearl-handled" (gripped) revolver. He said, "Only a cheap pimp in a New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl-handled revolver." (There, I fixed it for you).

Re: Finished one for me.
It's a commercial product. It's fairly expensive and comes in sheets, so you would need quite a bit of it to justify buying it.
You could buy everything separately and laminate it yourself, but it would be a lot of trouble.

As Tazman said, pearl color is damn hard to photograph. That must be a real beauty to see in person. Nice work!
