Also consider the Cold Steel

I'm not a big fan of the wood handles I'm afraid they will break on me! The Cold Steel Vietnam Tomahawk doesn't look bad. Might be a little heavy though.

Re: Tactical Tomahawk
For an everyday chopper I still think this little number is hard to beat.
(leather stacked handle of course)

I bought a Gerber hatchet the first year they came out. It was made in Finland and the handle was indestructible but not theft proof...someone helped their self to it one night when I left my truck doors unlocked.
I think a hatchet,tomahawk or a hand axe is a very under-rated tool/weapon.
Never could stick a throwing knife too well but a throwing tomahawk is another story.
Like to have three of those like Vagrant has.
You want three separate targets though or you will end up splitting the handles.
I also like Cold Steels Frontier and Norse Hawk.

Check out the axe subforum at bladeforums. The owner is a pretty active member there.

Re: Tactical Tomahawk
RMJ hawks are awesome. Definitely on my wish list. He also hand forges beautiful (and expensive) pipe hawks.
Even though I love hatchets, I never cared too much about tomahawks until I saw this video and realized how versatile they really are:

And they are a lot of fun to throw!
I can't find a better picture, but here is my trailhawk that I stripped and etched along with a Boker Sodbuster and Ontario machete. It's my version of a Nessmuk trio.

Hmm in his discription he says he hand forges them completely, do you think he machines them to? They are really nice either way.Viking45 wrote:Those are awesome! I like how he incorporates hand forging with machine-turning.j.a.c. wrote:Not really tactical ,but this guy makes some pretty stuff.
