Sweden balisong

Post by Hank »

Hello everyone, I would like information on this "butterfly" knife. I know it was made in Sweden as a hunting-fishing knife. It has a scaler, a bottle opener and a screwdriver on the blade. The grip latch is spring loaded. Overall it seems well made. When was it produced? Is it currently produced?

I don't know how accurate this information is, but the knife is almost identical to yours (different handle material)- https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/1067858/

Looks like they used the description from this other one (slightly different version)- https://www.arizonacustomknives.com/products/168375/

My guess is that yours was part of a promotional run for Volvo Penta (a Swedish marine and industrial engine manufacturing company).

Here's another one with the same logo-

I don't believe they have been made for several decades, maybe since the 1950's. And I can't find any reference to the company still being in existence.
