ROSCO Leverlock

Post by Jackalope »

Are leverlocks with no bolsters very common?
The lever pivots on 2 raised pins on this knife. How common is this?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I’ve never seen anything like that. Could it be a rescale with a creative solution for the lever? Just curious what are the skills made from our the imitation tortoise?
By the way very cool addition to your collection.

Hi John,
I do not believe it to be re scaled. It looks original to me. Plus the shape of the body looks unique.

The knife is original.
It was made by Bonsa for the George Rose Company. It's their standard 10 CM model, made without bolsters.
These are less common than normal lever locks.

Thanks for the info Bill. What's involved with correcting the blade peak?

Do all of the Bonsa's with no bolsters have the 2 raised pins?

Yes, the bolsterless ones have the pins for the lever to pivot on.
Correcting the peek involves either building up/replacing the sear, and/or welding the sear hole in the blade.
