Brass Balls

Post by Doc Rocket »

Well not really balls but I'm working on a switch with some brass elements. Has anyone run into a way to keep the shine without re polishing. Perhaps coating with a clearbase of some sort?

There are coatings but they usually wear off. As long as there's no corrosion alowing it to darken naturally isn't bad, some prefer it that way.

i have a 50 cal shell that is hung up in the wall of fame at the grill, 1st brassoed the hell out of it, then put several coats of spray lacquer on it, after 1 year it still has a great shine on it,and it is outside under roof only.

i'm not a big brass fan for that very reason - too much hassle keeping a shine on it - i much prefer NS...i wonder if you can anodize brass?

Gold plating will keep it from tarnishing, but the plating doen't wear well.
I prefer nickel silver.
