thanks guys!

yeah, i chose not to put the safety back in, i figure there is no need for a safety on a knife destined for a display case.....

I agree, it looks good and why potentially screw up a scale when you can just skip the safety.
love that file work.

mrbigg,

Wow!! How did you maintain symmetry and spacing with the filework?

jim, i took my time, and marked everything out in advance. before i started with the files, i put a small knick in each spot i needed to file with my dremel, then concentrated on what i was doing, keeping the file straight, and went to bed when i was tired

i'm pretty happy with this one, but for my NEWEST project, i'm going to try something other than vines...

Very impressive I'll send you some red oak i have a bandsaw to cut slices.
You will have to figure out how to "season" it

Missaman,

thanks mr georgeg3,

i finished it with 3 coats of polyurathane.....but if there is a better treatment for maple or any other wood, i'm open to suggestions!

i'm going to try and find some tung oil for the purpleheart on my next project...

Very nice [I'm waiting on a re-supply of superlatives, they're back-ordered of course].
