Check your message box isn't full .You may have to delete some for other messages to get through .

That is probably the reason. Check your sent box, outbox, etc. There on the top it should say what percent is used. On mine I'm allowed 150 messages. I don't know if moderators are allowed more space.
If you are like me there are years old messages from passed friends and things that I have a hard time deleting so my box always teeters on about 95% full.
