Down for a while
Next Thursday I'm having hernia surgery, so it looks like a 3-4 week recovery period.
If I'm lucky, less.
Just letting everyone know.

Re: Down for a while
I'm sure it will go well. The hard part will be relaxing a few weeks.
Re: Down for a while
I had an abdominal hernia done ten or so years ago. You won’t feel like doing much for a few days. Be sure to get pain medicine. You’ll need it.

Enforced relaxation is NOT all it's cracked up to be as can be illustrated by months of lockdown.whippersnapper wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 8:31 pm I'm sure it will go well. The hard part will be relaxing a few weeks.
In any case, take it easy and give yourself some time to heal.
Re: Down for a while
Hope it all goes well for you Bill. These days the procedure is much better than years ago.

Re: Down for a while
Thank you all. I had the other side done via conventional surgery 30 years ago. I was miserable for 5 weeks.
Talked to a guitarist friend who had the same experience, but later had laparoscopic hernia surgery. He said he never took a pain pill and went home from the hospital and washed his car!

Seems like laparoscopic is the way to go. I think your fan base would agree. Whatever the case, my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thanks for everyone's concern. Surgery went well.
I'm sore but will be just fine.
