Small leverlocks

Post by jim d, »

We have recently enjoyed photos of a plethora of small stilettos. How about some photos of small leverlocks? Here are a couple of 8 cm (~6 in. open) Hubertus knives. Scales on the top knife are bone, stag on the bottom knife. The bottom knife features the tubby blade needed to comply with a German law that, according to my literature search, went into effect in 2003. It requires the width of knife blades to be a minimum of 20% of the blade length.

Here is a bad picture of some smaller leverlocks. Mostly Hubertus, but a Bonsa and a couple of Olbos models, too.

And here's an all metal one that's a little bit bigger.

I really love the little ones, and Bill's tiny ones are cool! Here's a few I have: Bare Head, Little Big Horn and Liliput...

Thanks Jim, as are yours! I certainly do have an attraction to all the small German leverlocks.

Here’s one more small lever lock. It’s a 4.5” Bonsa that’s seldom seen. I think there may have been one in Bill’s photo of his drawer but I’m not sure.

Here's your Bonsa with a bayonet blade, I have an identical one unmarked.
Had the Hubertus for a while. Middle one is wonderfully aged ivory (from Hubertus)
Top knife is a LE from '99, my wifes.
Bottom is typical stag/ damascus

Here's a mini Italian made from a kit with hand-jigged bone scales and filework, and a "small" Italian with hand-jigged wood scales and fileworked brass liners made from a full-size Leverletto kit. Both by Straydog.

Those are really nice! I traded off almost all of my Italian knives except for my Stray Dog customs. Really liked his work and wish he was more active on the forum but that's his choice.
