A.G.A Campolin 9’ dagger swinger

Post by picklocksrock »

This is my first and only AGA 9 inch swing guard and I couldn’t be happier. This is an extremely well made knife! Guards are tight they don’t move. Zero blade play, locks in place. Sits deep and centered. It’s built like a tank. If I had to carry a switchblade for protection, it would be this one. Also, it opens quick but not forcefully. Opens up smooth as butter. And It makes the sweetest sound when deployed. Anyways just thought I’d put her up here!

It's really nice! I wonder why they changed the 9" swinguards from AKC to A.G.A. Campolin(?)

That's a good question. I don't get the AKC stamp at all.

Jeff - I always wondered about the AKC (Automatic Knife Company) and SKM (Switchblade Knife Manufacturers) names for Campolin's and Armando Beltrame's companies. My guess and it is just a guess is that was a way for them to give names in English (I think USA has been their largest market by far) to their companies and to not have to worry about criticism for selling knives that had the family name but weren't actually made by Angelo or Armando. As I said, just a guess.

very possible.
I was wondering if originally it had something to do with selling on the internet.

Jeff - very good point, thinking back to 2000, they both had internet sites, not sure about anything before that, so it might well have been for their internet store.
