Antonio Contini Swinguard

Post by Corvus »

28.5 cm Swinguard Picklock in polished ram's horn, fresh from Antonio's shop. This thing is a real beast at 9.1 oz. I believe these were inspired by a Dave Sause design. Nicely-tuned action, solid lockup of both blade and guard and great attention to detail, e.g.; whether by design or luck, this is the only Contini swinguard I've seen with its sear pin hole completely hidden by the guard. A small detail, but it gives the knife a cleaner look.

Man that thing is super nice. Was that on the website or did you order it? I have a Picklock and you are right. They are well made beast of a knife. I call mine the “Assassin”.

Thanks Thom. I got this off his website. I've been watching it for years, just waiting for something that checked all the boxes.

I saw your knife during a search a while back (I think you may have mistaken your ram's horn scales for bovine horn in that post?). I can see why you call it the Assassin - it's an evil looking sucker.

Here is mine, next to an 11" Walt's flatguard for size comparison.
Corvus, I think you are right. It is polished Ram's horn.
