"M Italy" eBay Treasure

Post by Chris51P »

Well here's one that got by the eBay police squad. Was just scrolling through on eBay and didn't pay any attention to it for a couple of days just knowing it was going to get kicked off. Made the seller an offer and he took it. One very good to excellent condition "M Italy." Good luck still exists.

It was my lucky day. It’s like looking for a needle sometimes. And then there are days when it’s a flood.

Great find! From the photos it looks (at least to me) like there is some sort of an insert around the button. What am I seeing? Is it just my aging eyes?

Not an insert. It's the way the camera picks up the wider part of the button. I guess it has to do with reflection but I'm not an expert. I used my phone camera.

The pics aren't great, but it appears to be one of the best specimens of M.ITaly out there. I got a Kriss a while ago at the Gator show, but that was 11 inch. I really like the rear scale. Too bad there still remains some questions about what M.Italy was.

It's my opinion that with many of the older knives there seems to be more attention to the details. Such as the positioning of the scales so that the swirls in the horn center well on the knife or the translucence of scales optimally reflect the light. Could be the availability of quality parts back then compared to now. Who knows for sure... but the older vintage knives are great.
