B.V. & F. ITALY

Post by JulesVane »

9" (23 cm) B.V. & F. (Beltrame Vittorio & Figli) Picklock. If I'm reading the history correctly, Frank Beltrame's Father started making stilettos and using this stamp in 1958, which seems like a real odd time to start, considering what was going on in the U.S. at that time with switchblades...

Great example - thanks for sharing. I don't know when that stamp first started to be used, but have seen it on transitionals, which would have been post 1958.

Thanks Jim...I'm reading 1958 to 1969, when Frank's Father passed away. That sure would explain the transitionals/swivel bolsters. If he did start as late as 1958, I wouldn't think he created lots of picklocks.

Probably just bad luck with the timing.

That's a beauty!

Frank is still making knives as it is a family affair with him. Is his brother Armando still around?
