Well.... to be perfectly honest.... no.... not really... in fact it made me smile.... my thoughts were......... " What a twit!..... he's trying to wind me up.."
Now I thought a TeddyBoy was an English version of a greaser. Elvis hair, pointed shoes, switchblade, tight pants etc. But a Twit in America is a fool. Maybe TeddyBoy is an insult in England now a days like Twit.

No..... not really.... it's about on par with being called a "twit" over here.... dear me... you didn't think I was deliberately insulting Mr. Bigg did you ?..... HE didn't seem to think so.... there was no more malice in my post to him than there was in his post to me....
So the TeddyBoy culture in England are twits? I always thought they looked pretty kool back in the 60's. How about Mods and Rockers do they no longer exist?

O.K. Mr.P.B.BOY! Hows it sound to you? Teds were a product of the 50's over here, and the favoured toy was a Cuthroat Razor!Even though switches were legal at the time.My elder Bro. was a Ted and I remember it well!NOBODY likes being called BOY,Especially by someone that was not even in DIAPERS or even born, when others were in their prime!Twit is a very polite word to use,I can think of much better ones! Have Fun,the spotlight kid.
A CARROT IS AS CLOSE AS A RABBIT GETS TO A DIAMOND!

So then Teddyboys was a made up expression by the media they were called Teds? Educate me I don't know the breakdown of certain groups of kids in England as I'm sure you wouldn't know about kids here. I had heard the term TeddyBoy since the 60's and now I find out it was never a word.

Yeah but how do you explain Tarzans son's name Missaman? And plus what happens when he's 21 is he then called Man? I guess what I don't understand is if boy is so bad then why did the teds use it in the first place. Hoods over here called themselves Greasers, JD's or Rats but we never added boy after it. Must be an English thing.

Two peoples divided by a common language.
Here, "twit" is not common but when used means [roughly] idiot, silly, slow [mentaly], etc. Basically harmless, but not very bright.
Main Entry: [1]twit
Pronunciation: 'twit
Function: noun
Date: 1528
1 : an act of twitting : TAUNT
2 : a silly annoying person : FOOL
I was unaware of def.#1 [like I said rather uncommon here].
i guess what i meant was something like teddy ol boy or ol chap - i was merely emphasizing his correctness on the spring....i could be a twitter - but i'd rather not be a twit
