Re: Beltrame
Well....went to Italy because we were advised that it was a bad time for Americans to go to Peru. Long story there but then the wife suggested Italy on a tour. I said on the condition that we could at least try to visit the Beltrames in Maniago. A quick side note, if you are married at least try to some what include you spouse in your hobbies. Makes life so much more enjoyable.
My wife arranged it so we would spend the first couple of days in Maniago and meet up with the rest of the tour in Florence.
Seems that some time ago I posted a bit about the trip here and/or on Sharper Deals. Though if there is interest and no objection I'll share some of the trip again.

Re: Beltrame
Because of the title of the thread I will stick to the visit to Frank's shop and maybe throw a couple of shots in from Lucio's. I am not on the computer a lot and can't send the pictures from my other ....device. Crap, just hit a bunch of pictures that must be huge cause they are too big to fit on here. Think my son took them, some are pretty cool but...let me see what else I have. There were a lot of pictures taken. My problem is that in some pictures when down loaded were down loaded more categorically and others are just everything that was on the card. Unfortunately, one of those that was just from Frank's shop was one my son took and all of the pictures are way to big. I don't know how to make them smaller or even if it would be worth the effort.
The pictures here, I attached as I found them so the order might be odd and very random. The shop itself isn't very big and some of the equipment was old and had been modified to accomplish whatever their function is.
Think I reached my limit for this post, stay tuned, we'll be back from Maniago!

Re: Beltrame
We met Sara Beltrame, Frank's daughter at the train station though we weren't able to ride the train in because it is seasonal and doesn't run or has very limited runs in the summer. We had to take a small bus but this is where the bus took us.

Re: Beltrame
Sorry about how random these pictures are but for some reason when the card was downloaded it shuffled them. There is one set of pictures that is really good that my son took but unfortunately too big to post here and I am not savvy enough to figure out how to resize them.
The entire trip was great but the time that we spent in Maniago with Beltames and Lucio, wondering around the village and going up to the castle ruins was of course my favorite part.
Perhaps I ought to start a different thread showing the time at Lucio's. The stuff he has to make scales and handles out of are amazing. He told us that he also supplies the natural material for some extremely expensive women's purses.
Ok, well there you have it. If I can dig up or resize any of the other pictures I will post them. I have a bunch of other but many are so similar to these that there really isn't much point in posting them.

- Frank and Sara soon after we arrived. I gave them a few pieces of glass that I had made and dragged from Ohio to Italy.
