Ist mikov kit

Post by JAGMAN »

Put together my first Mikov - first knife actually- enjoyed it and did not spend a dime on e-bay all week!
(Although I did succumb and bought a red dot pick lock off auction.)
I got the bone and the inspiration from Nemo, and used some invaluable wisdom from Mr. Deshivs writings on the 101 website.
I was paticularly inspired to use the cold forging technique to solve a blade wobble problem, it works much better than a BFH :D
The blade is unsharpened in the pics and the pivot pin is not yet peened.

Great job Jagman. Also got some white from Nemo and was planning to use it on a Mikov.

I like the look of bone scales - but the stuff sure does stink up the place when you cut it.
Maybe next time I'll have to burn some inscence (or something)

Hey, that does look nice. Great job.
Just a preference, but (or something) beats incense every way.
Laughed my sorry ass off when I looked close at your avatar.

Very nice... I wish I could make such a nice knife. Really - I was never patient enough to put one together...

People with REAL talent are so unkind they make follow links so they can "rub it in".

Vagrant, I am trying to figure out how to post directly-any suggestions would help.
David, if you ever find the time to assemble some of these you should sell them,it may prove lucrative, one suggestion though, dont make people jump thru a hoop to send a certified letter to bank account number

O.K. try this.
On photki click on one pic. It sould appear alone and larger. Below it should be Http etc. etc. etc that ends with a ]. Highlite all of this except the bracket and copy. go to post and at talkblade and click img in the box above, paste the one you copied and click img again. click on preview to see if it worked, if so add text and post. [sometimes it takes me two tries of highlite, copy before it works so if no ing shows the first time repeat the process. On the second try it will still be highlited from the first try, clear the highlite andd re-highlit.
Works for me [usually]
