My New Sebenza Arrived Today!
I bought this as a retirement present to myself.
Chris Reeve's Sebenza's are awesome knives.
Lisa's Pick's of the month are great too.

That is a beautiful Sebenza. You should check out Bladeforums Chris and his wife moderate a forum over there. They are a very popular knife because the frame lock is so much stronger then a liner. Picked yourself out a really nice one. That damascus is gorgeous do you know what process is used to create the color? Is it Ionized or something else?

Thanks guys!
PB, according to an info sheet that came with the knife about the care and feeding of damascus, it is treated with Salts of Nitre to achieve a bronzed and blued finish. Same process to blue gun barrles.
From Chris Reeve's website:
** The Damascus blades are etched with Ferric Chloride to produce a black and white effect. The Bronzed or Blued Damascus blades are first, highly polished and then treated with Salts of Nitre to produce the color. Please note that the finish on the Blued or Bronzed blades is cosmetic only. This surface finish does not react well when used to cut items with an acid content, i.e., apples, oranges, steaks, fingers, etc!

LOL PB! This one is not getting used. It's going into my coffee table as a showpiece once I get the other two sections made up.
Thanks Causeway!

Beautiful looking Sebenza. Bought one last year with a plain blade, truly great knives.
Great supplier here in Montreal, if anyone is interested.

Thanks again for the kudos guys!
Benny, yup I have a rainbow leek but now it takes second stage to my sebbie.
Razor, some day I will get a large plain for a user/edc.
BJ, funny you should ask, just rearanged the knives.
Mr.Bigg, thanks but I'm pretty sure that the panes are tempered glass and I have 6 replacements just in case.
