HUBERTUS Custom by Bill DeShivs

Post by XBMX »

Last Fall I had opertunity to secure some NOS Hubertus items from the last cleanout at the closed RITTER FACTORY in Solingen. This was a uncompleted assembly 11cm with Bone Scales. They were sent to Bill DeShivs for completion. At his suggestion the Bone was scrapped and I gave him free reign which as you will probably agree was a very good idea. Pictures don't come near fully showing off his Worksmanship. OUTSTANDING RESULTS, I'm sure you all will agree. As I don't collect a couple of guys are in for a treat.

I just put them together as they should be done. The available parts are very crude.
If you look at older Hubertus knives, the bolsters are evenly contoured and rounded. Later knives are just squared off.

Bill's finished product just melts together, in hand it's so obvious. This is the "before" picture Bill started with as I received from Germany.
