Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
Does anyone have any thoughts on this knife maker?
His prices seem pretty reasonable.
How is the quality and workmanship?

Well, I ordered one.
At $13.95 it certainly won't be a budget buster.
I'll post about it when it arrives .

Sweet! What's the length.
Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
I have one with metal handles. Functional knife....
Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
And I also have one with all brass handles, its a slipjoint, I like it and the price wasnt to high.
Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
I thiink the blade is 3.5 inches which is a bit large for a pocket knife.

That's the size I prefer for my carry knives but mine has a pocket clip.

Well, it arrived and is a nice little knife, good strong spring, and good-looking horn like the picture shows.
Opens and closes with a nice strong snap.
An affordable price, hand made , no play side to side or up and down.
The horn scales are good looking but are very slightly cupped; I guess I'll see if that gets to be a problem down the road.
It's a nice piece of work for 13 bucks and change.

Where can I get one?
Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
I got mine from Perry Knifeworks out of Acushnet Mass.
I have seen them also on ebay although the prices there seem a bit higher than Perry's site, many of the models at Perry seem to be out of stock .
It may be that Fraraccio is selling through ebay also.
Perry's site seems to be out of stock on many (most?) knives in their catalogue.
Search ebay for this seller.
Il Casale del Sole
Hope this helps.

Perry Knifeworks sold me the one I got, but Perry seems to be very low or out of stock on many items in their catalog.
These are also listed on ebay by Il Casale del Sole try a search there too.
Sorry about the double post.

Looking on the eBay listings I'm liking the one that came up at the top of the page. Shell puller, of course. I take it these are all manually opening?
Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
I'm assuming so twobit; but you know what they say about assuming.
I also ordered the 32cm with steel bolsters and no bail; it's going to run me about a C note, but then I'll have an example of a low end price and a high end price from the maker. That one is coming from the old country so it may be a bit before it arrives.
I'm not that high on manual openers, but it's handmade and Italian so it's nice to have a few examples of Italian handmade folding knives.

Re: Michele Fraraccio of Frosolone
Okay, the large one arrived today. The backspring is very strong to the point that I wouldn't be concerned about its closing during the heaviest work. The big boy weighs in at 6.6 onnces. The horn is nice, and the pins are steel. For a handmade Italian folder I would rate it at a 8 out of 10. The blade I'm assuming is high carbon steel and should develop a nice patina over time with use.
