theres a few tricks you can try.
Though it depends what kind of rice your cooking.
For white rice at least. If you wash or steep the grains before you cook them they don't stick together as much, also don't still them much and they wont be as sticky.
I also find that on the other end of the spectrum if you add a little salt into the water as the rice is cooking it helps them soften up easier.
