Thanks for the info, it looks like Edge spent more money on the blades for the brass plated stilettos.

the first edge co. stiletto kits were made by f.beltrame & fam.the actual design was by frank b. himself, who then patented it and named it 'THE ATLAS' after edge co. suffered large financial reversals by the wrong arm of the law(reachin' pete) they started importing ATLAS knock offs from asia at a MUCH lower price.still they went toes up soon after.-GJulesVane wrote:Now...Isn't that the Edgeco Italy version? I thought you wanted The Edge Company from Vermont that was in business long ago(?) Didn't they only sell the Asian kits? The catalog pieces you posted are $20 Asian pieces. Now you're talking about a totally different animal https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Vintage-E ... Swju9ah1Fo

i put mine together right out the mailbox on the front steps!lol!wazu013 wrote:I lived in Buffalo, NY then. It was the only way to get a switch. The Edge catalog was a cool deal for me. It went right in my bathroom (reading room) as soon as it came in the mail.JulesVane wrote:I guess back when I bought the 4 I got from them (I was about 16), I only had the funds to even look at the $20 kits. I was an ONYX member for buying the 4. I had no idea (memory) of them selling higher-end pieces, but I just learned (or, re-learned) something new. None of the 4 I bought were stamped anything about Edgeco. My confusion is now pretty much solved.

Picked this one up today, its in rough shape but it still fires nice. Tang says edgeco stainless on one side Italy stainless on the other.

That doesn't look like rough shape at all.

...That's my confusion. A knife bought from the Edge Company that's got an "Asian" stamp, is still considered an EdgeCo knife? (As my earlier example).sammy the blade wrote:It's made in china
