The AB/SKM "Do it yourself" are fully assembled EXCEPT for the spring and the pin that retains it
I think they are equal or Suoerior to the standard Stiletto

At some point you'll need a :
belt sander
drill press
Dremel
and make things from scratch

i dont know, probably maple, its just the most available hardwood, i work shipping and recieving and always have these hardwood skids on hand, i know it sucks, but again i work shipping an recieving so you can imagine i dont make very much and its hard to justify spending money on rare or costly materials for a hobby ive just started. by the way is the channel width for these leverlettos 5/16 like the mikovs

don't remeber this width off the top of my head. I just mark the scales and cut them tight , then slowly file em till they fit snug with out binding the flat spring.

Junior,

If you have a lumber store nearby you can almost always obtain scraps for very little cash or even free. Doesn't take very much wood at all for a knife. DON't go to a Home Depot. A lumber only store will have some good stuff.
Oh God, that knife has a spring in it!! Everybody RUN!!!!!

I put a 1/4 router bit to the channel and it appear to be a perfect fit maybe a hair snug.
