SKM Newsletter - November 2006
==============================

NOTE: If you think you're receiving this e-mail by mistake and want to
unsubscribe, please take a look at the bottom of this message.

It's been a long time since the last newsletter, but here we are with
some interesting news from SKM and the Maniago area.

1) Bill DeShivs puts his signature on the Tactical Leverletto
2) Piranha New Age Autos
3) @ TalkBlade: fully forged Stiletto, gravity knives, mugshots, ...
4) Maniago news: They're cutting down Monte San Lorenzo to make concrete

1 - Bill DeShivs puts his signature on the Tactical Leverletto
--------------------------------------------------------------

Bill DeShivs did it again: he now created the Tactical Leverletto, a
knife which features an outstanding layout which is halfway between a
classic style "lever lock" - having it the same shape as the regular
Leverletto - and a modern switchblade knife. The quality is the one of
the latter, so it's extremely high.

Here you can find the black anodized aluminium one:

while here you'll see the gray anodized aluminium model:

2 - Piranha New Age Autos
-------------------------

Another new entry at SKM: the Piranha 8"1/4 automatic knife. It features
black or brown ABS handles, and a clip belt. The quality is high, as
it's manufactured using the most advanced technologies available in
Maniago, Italy.

Take a look at the Piranha here:

3 - @ TalkBlade: fully forged Stiletto, gravity knives, mugshots, ...
---------------------------------------------------------------------

TalkBlade forum is very active these days, with great discussion around
many topics. Here's a selection of what's hot:

==> Fully forged Stiletto project
http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=7567
There is an ongoing effort to make an extremly high quality forged
Italian Stiletto. Take a look at this topic to see the preview images,
discover the details, and tell you opinion.

==> a new pass around knife??
http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=7947
Pass around knives are knives bought by sharing the cost among a
number of people. The knife gets mailed from a person to another, and
everybody has 2 or 3 days to play with it. The last person in the chain
makes a draw and picks a winner who will then keep the knife. It's a
fun and non-expensive way to see beautiful knives, with a chance to
keep them.

==> Is this a decent Gravity knife ?.
http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=7792
They're not switchblades, but they're illegal almost everywhere and
are therefore fascinating. This topic is about gravity knives and their
legal issues, don't miss it.

==> Deposit Mugs Here
http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=8152
TalkBlade keeps a collection of photos of its contributors. If you
want yours published, post it in this thread. Don't worry, you'll
not be the least good-looking. ;-)

==> helping homeless animals
http://www.talkblade.info/viewtopic.php?t=1508
This topic is always a popular TalkBlade one, as almost everybody on
the forums pays particular attention to charities. Read this to know
what you can do to help homeless animals.

4 - Maniago news: They're cutting down Monte San Lorenzo to make
concrete
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're interested in some facts about Maniago - the cutlery town
where SKM, AB Coltellerie TalkBlade, and many other companies have their
headquarters - the Monte San Lorenzo story is something which is
definitely worth attention.
The San Lorenzo mountain has been a cave of rock used to make concrete
for several years, but now it seems the company which is extracting
the material wants to cut a bit too much of the poor mountain. Here's
a photo of the current upper part of San Lorenzo:

http://www.montesanlorenzo.org/001.jpg

The idea of the concrete-making company is to cut all what is located
behind the little church you can see in the centre of the picture.
Local authorities are not interested in trying to find a less defacing
solution for the mountain, as the money behind this business is a lot.
If you know some Italian, this web sites explains it all:

Well, that's all for now! Thank you for you attention, and stay tuned
for more exiciting news soon to be announced.

Sincerely,
the SKM staff.
