Good question Mr. Vagrant, and one I ponder often. Even our Canadian brethren take more time off than we Americans do... Consumer Culture? Almight Dollar? Godlessly brainwashed by Corporate Amerika into working 60 hour weeks for minimal benefits, increasing expectations and lower wages? Better shut up, I'm sounding bitter.
Merry Christmas to All!
I'm feeling tense, need a shot of Apfel Schnapps and something sharp to play with.

You know what happens... here in Europe many just wish the opposite. Going all on vacation together in December and August creates several problems: places and transports are too full (and more expensive), and there's too many people around to enjoy enything seriously.Vagrant wrote:Why can't Americans learn to do vacations and holidays like Europeans?

I think it's more the amount of time not when. Like most Americans I had to work for my company 5 years to get 3 weeks vacation. I read the average German worker gets 5 weeks vacation his first year. I know many Europeans have more or longer vacations than we do. We are behind many countries and not making any progress.arthas wrote:You know what happens... here in Europe many just wish the opposite. Of course we enjoy our work so much we don't want more time off. [lol]
