Help with SKM Maniago Raptor 7 1/2 PARTS
Hi guys,
I am looking for the screw that holds the blade in to place.
Mine snapped after cleaning.
It's a brass screw and when you tighten it too much and try to open it ..... snap ,so becarefull.
I have tried to get in contact with various people. One person told me that the knife was made by a different manufactorer ??
after seeing the pictures !!!! so no help there.
one told me it's a metric screw..... thats nice but the blade turns on the shank of the screw so thats close tolerance.
so now I am looking for a place where I can get the screw? any sugestions
thanks
Henkster

You might try sending arthas a pm. He is the administrator of this forum and is associated with SKM in Italy. He should be able to help. Here is a link to his profile....

thanks,whippersnapper.
I send arthas a PM.
I talked to somebody from SKM and they told me my knife was made by a different manufactorer so they couldnt help me.
It's weird that they say that because they are the only one selling that knife.
thanks
Henk

Re: Help with SKM Maniago Raptor 7 1/2 PARTS
Well, hopefully with arthas being in Maniago, Italy he will be able to gio the extra mile in tracking down the screw or atleast getting the info on size to replace it. Or help in contacting who makes the Raptor.
Seems like I remember something about the knives being made by MCM Italy, but I may be thinking of another knife.
I don't own one so I'm not really familiar with how exactly the pivot screw works in one.
If all else fails, you could probably go to a good hardware store and they should be able to tell you the thread size by looking at the threads of the bad pivot screw, or the female end it screws into. Most good hardware and even many autoparts stores have a decent selection of metric size fasteners now.
Or as a last ditch effort, you may be able to carfully re-tap the threads to a more common size screw thread that will hold fine with a little lock-tite.
Good luck.

Arthas ,
My friend bought the knife in nov 2010 in maniago italy.
he gave it to me as a present.
as you can see the screw has a special flat head that will fit in the cut out on one side of the handle
and holds the blade in to place by screwing in to the other handle.
Arthas thanks in advance.

Re: Help with SKM Maniago Raptor 7 1/2 PARTS
Hello!
I talk with the person who used to produce these knives. He told me that, since he hasn't been making knives for a few years, hhe's now without spare parts at all, so also without screws.
At this point I don't know how to help... probably it's possible to find that screw somewhere, or a compatibile one.

arthas ,
thank you for your time and help with this problem.
Do you know if there is a different company making this knife? I saw that SKM does have the knife for sale and also a company in austria I believe.
Thanks again.
Henk
