IHT KNIFE POLL

Post by hollowdweller »

DID I DELETE MY PREVIOUS POLL? WILL TRY IT AGAIN. IF ANYBODY WANTS ME TO ADD OTHER OPTIONS I CAN & WE NEED TO FIND OUT FROM DEXTER IF

1 HE CAN USE GORTS DESIGN

2 IF MAYBE HE COULD MAKE THEM WITH BOTH STYLE BLADES.

Mr. Hollowdweller,

I think an 11" & a 13" model would be an idea. Gort's design is perfect, and has that 'Wally-esque' appearance. I wonder if a Kris blade can be engraved....

Best Regard's,

On limited edition knives it is traditional [most times] to have the serial # on the Tang. [AB on the front of the tang/ serial # on the back is fine].
I'll go with the majority even if they want it on the scales if that is what it takes to get this moving.

I will [cheerfully] go with the majority on this because this has to be "our knife" not "my knife".
"My knife" would be as follows;
11" Standard blade [based on seeing dozens of each I think quality is more consistant on the 11", the standard blade would be easiest to etch, and it can actually cut].
Brass bolsters because they're different
One scale real horn and one imitation, to compare warpage [that's what stared this].
Gort's Skull on both sides of the etch [or by itself on the back of the blade]
Serial # on tang [opposite AB]
That's "MY KNIFE" but now let's make "OUR KNIFE".
If 55% of us agree on a knife I'll go along with the results whatever they are.

I'd also go with your design Vagrant. I would think the cool skull would look better on flatground because it could be bigger. # on the tang would be good.

Seems like more people want a bayo blade though right now. Wonder if Dex could make them with both? Also wonder if he could do the mixed scales and brass bolsters like you mention. If he says we can maybe we could run the poll again with those options. Guess we need to hear from him.

I dont' know about size. I didn't know that about the 11 vs the 13.

I think your ideas for the knife are perfect except for one thing...brass bolsters. I think they would take away rather than add to the knife.

O.K. stainless bolsters.
Maybe if we agree on Logo, serial #, and skull location, Arthus can let each member choose size and blade style. [At least 11" or 13" and standard or bayo]. If that isn't possible I'll go with the majority.

Yea...an 11" standard blade sounds great. Add a heavy backspring and it's coronary time. :D I'll take 2...one for the pocket and one for the safe.

How about a 15 incher with THICK titanium liners and bolsters, CM-154 steel blade and a trimmed to fit '55 Chevy rear suspension spring? :D

Mr. Falcon,

Now, you're getting into it - Expect I think the bolsters should be 24 ct. GOLD! The button should have a diamond in it (about 2 cts.) and the blade should be sterling silver with a picture of Mickey Mouse etched on both sides!

OR
We could ALL agree on the knife that started it all...13 inch bayo, I.H. scales of course.....inscription on flat of blade....AB logo on tang....serial number on reverse tang......with an optional skull.

Any takers????

Best wishes
