Browsing through pages of "sold" knives on the Sardinian site, I couldn't help but notice that every one of the last eleven Contini knives sold prior to this one all had videos attached to the listings showing the knives being repeatedly fired. But there's no video for this knife. A coincidence maybe? Or maybe not?

Whatever the case, I hope things work out. Of course even if they provide a full refund and pay for return shipping it's still a hassle.

Send it to me and I'll repair it. See if they would cover the repair.

Try getting your thumb off the button very quickly, like slide off. Can't lock if the pin is still up. Some mikovs taunt me with this issue.

It's beautiful.

No, I sent them an e-mail but haven't gotten a response. May have Bill look at it.

The easy solution would be to send it to Bill to be fixed, pay him and see if the guys who sold it to you will cover the repair. If they won't then shame on them. You dropped $1,300.00 for it and if they turned you down you've learned something about the company.
Bite the bullet and send it to Bill anyway.

I wouldn't send it back to Europe, so many things can go wrong with that process.

If I spent half as much on a knife (or even less than that), and I had to pay out of my own pocket for someone else to fix it because the maker/vendor wouldn't make things right, even if it were made perfect I wouldn't be able to enjoy owning it. Every time I looked at it I'd think about how the maker/vendor gave me the shaft. But that's me.

Sardinian Knives is a member here, and it would be nice to hear what they have to say on this matter. I can understand if some or all parties involved want to keep the matter private, but for anyone thinking about buying a knife from Sardinian, or Contini, they might want to know what they can expect if the knife they buy turns out to be defective. And although I have no intentions of buying anything from them (unrelated to this matter), I would like to know if I can recommend Sardinian Knives to others. Any such recommendations are on hold until I see the outcome of this.

I could forgive a vendor/maker selling a defective knife (sometimes defects only show up after several firings), but it's how a vendor/maker responds to such issues that defines their character, and whether or not many would want to do business with them.

The repair would probably not be expensive. I'm also an engraver-so there is no worry with damaging the engraving.

I feel the same way; I'm wrestling on spending more money on it. The other Contini that I bought was ok, the blade is a little loose. The fact that they have ignored my e-mails is upsetting, and them being a member here they have to know about the problem. I know for sure I'll never buy from them again. :|

The last login date for Sardinian knives was December 17. That is the day they started this thread, so maybe they really haven't seen it. But even long vacations are no excuse not to check emails if you run a business imo.

I agree they should be responsive to your communications.

I'm not trying to get business-but to offer a simple solution to your problem.

I don't need, or want, more business

Posted another knife today on Jan. 26th. I'm not quite sure how to lead him back to this thread. :?
