Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
Here is where you post the cheap, the bad, and the ugly. No knife snobs allowed...
I found this little OTF knife in my junk box today. It doubles as a cigarette lighter and an otf knife. I don't remember where it came from but I have had it a long time. It actually isn't half bad and works good. I was surprised when I thumbed the button the thing actually lit on the first try...lol

Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
Those were pretty popular for awhile when the Joker used one in one of the Batman/Joker movies. I don't think I ever owned one.
Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
Terry, I don't think you're missing much. I much prefer the look of the Paragon. It's so much more sleek, not clunky like this one
Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
I'm fairly certain this one is my crappiest. Super thin blade, only bevelled on one side of the cutting edge. Very fragile mechanics. Sorry for the crappy photo.

Not the best knives for sure but some guys collect them. My first otf knife was the NATO version from the EDGECO catalog in the late 70's/Early eighties.
Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
Mine too, exactly that one! My dad ordered it for me and my high school principal confiscated it. It was much more robust than this one, though mechanically the same. It had a metal frame, pinned together. This one is one piece and seems to be of plastic construction with a "T" plug.whippersnapper wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 1:27 am Not the best knives for sure but some guys collect them. Crappy knife of the day is another lighter/knife combo. Lighter doesn't seem to work but I'm too lazy to find my can of butane. Blade is scary dull with tacticool cut outs! One side sports a spider and the other ol glory!

I’ve got a lot of crap lol , but I’d have to say my crappiest switch is the Black Dagger because the blade doesn’t even move

Re: Worlds crappiest switchblade thread.
Mike, I had one of those once in my late teens. I took it apart in the interest of trying to see if I could convert it to a legit OTF. Saw there was absolutely no chance and pitched the whole works in the trash. Are those combs with back locks and wood scales?

Whoa Mike! You can't overwhelm us all at one time with a group shot!...lol
I wouldn't be surprised if you got some crap from me. Over the years I have often unloaded cheapies included with the knives I have sold.

I believe the blade isn’t supposed to move, Mike. Hahaha! I kid. I kid.portlandmike wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 3:46 pm I’ve got a lot of crap lol , but I’d have to say my crappiest switch is the Black Dagger because the blade doesn’t even move
Is that a switchblade bottle opener on the top left corner of your box. Those things are cool. I know some kids have taken those cheap ass switchblade combs and made them into knives by snapping off the comb and inserting/gluing a blade made from a soup can into that prong that holds the comb. That’s really dangerous considering most of those things don’t lock and soup cans are sharp as shit! Since the bottle opener locks open, you could probably easily convert it into a functional switchblade knife by removing the pin with a Dremel and either making your own blade from an old saw blade or taking a blade from a broken knife and inserting it. Of course you’d have to make sure it was the right size and shape and make sure it fits the lock hole and the seer hole is in the right place.

Whippersnapper - sorry for the crap overload
Mario - that is a bottle opener, but my mangling days are behind me… I leave the customization to the experts
