Campolin prototipo

Post by porkchop »

I bought this directly from mr. Campolin (Jr) some years ago at the Atlanta blade show. Front tang stamp says: A.G.A CAMPOLIN, MANIAGO ITALY 2011. Back tang stamp is: PROTOTIPO. It's quite a piece and opens like a thunderbolt! Any body ever seen one like it or know anything about it?

It looks a lot like the Diana with a button instead of a lever.

Like Bill said, made by Renzo Pascotto for A.G.A. Campolin. Odd how he wrote prototype in Italian on some of his knives and English on others.

Nice one. Its a Catalana and dont know why its a prototype as these knives are also made back around 2004. Its maybe because of the square/oval like button.. Could be made by Renzo or Campolin Sr. himself as he passed away a year later.

prototipo is just a hair over 13 inches. Has a massive snap!
