Found this searching 'johnny cade switchblade "
This was in the q&a on search results when I googled "Johnny Cade switchblade". Copied and pasted:
Switchblade From 'The Outsiders' - YouTube. This model is referred by most people as the "Johnny Cade" knife from the movie The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. This is a custom Hubertus German shell puller lever lock converted by Bill Deshivs. It features lovely polished stag scales on the handle and fires open amazingly.Nov 16, 2021

With just an initial, quick read of the description, it at first gave the impression that it was saying Bill converted the one used in the movie.

The one in the movie was not a Hubertus.

Is there enough of it shown to identify what it is? I only recall seeing the top rear bolster and the blade in closeup. Maybe a glimpse of a stag scale but I could be imagining that. It's been awhile. As I recall, he only had it out in the park scene and later at the abandoned church to cut ponyboy's hair. Then ponyboy had it in turn to cut Johnny's hair. I'm reasonably sure that is all we see of it.

Possibly an Anton Wingen. It had light jigged bone handles that had dark dye in the jigging.

Luke
Something similar to this jigged bone , but a bit lighter.
Never seen one exactly like the movie one ,always looks thicker aswell in close ups than my old german shellpullers .

Those are lovely, Ian. I should have mine from Hubertus USA sometime in the next week or so. I'll post pics when it arrives.
Re: Found this searching 'johnny cade switchblade "
The problem is it looks like every other German shell puller. This is the first I’ve heard jigged bone. I always thought it was just stag.
Here's a German one...
..And even an Italian model would pass the average eye...

The knife in that video belongs to my buddy Christian Thorn. He has a really nice switchblade collection. He has an old AGA Campolin shell puller lock back stiletto, which is no longer in production. He also has a Bargeon and a Case Cheetah auto conversion done by the late Tank Fisher.

Here is my Hubertus stamped shellpuller in jigged bone.
