Anyone know the origins of this Shellpuller?
It's one I am not familiar with and looks like it's from the 60s /70s .
Thought it could be French /Italian ,and looks pretty well built .
It's not my knife just one I saw on eBay and has bad peak, just thought it was interesting ,not the usual Shellpuller lines.

Re: Shellpuller ID
I've never seen one like it, Ian, but that's not unusual for me. It does look interesting. Not to my taste as I've been gravitating more towards shorter, wider knives, but still curious.

Re: Shellpuller ID
Does it have a locking blade? I don't see any lock or lock release method. Or is it a button-open/button-close?
I wonder if someone simply took the shell puller bolsters from a different knife and pinned them on a stiletto. The bottom bolsters appear to be made flush with the handles, but not the shell puller bolsters. And the pivot pin looks roughly done.
It's not uncommon for people to try their hand at modifying switchblades. This could be an example.

Luke ,Bill ,Killgar and John
I thought it looked suspicious myself but it looks quite old and the nickel bolsters match quite well in colour.
The pivot pin is suspicious and like Killgar said it must be a bobc .The puller bolster itself doesn"t look handmade and seems the right size for this knife but i am no expert .
Maybe somebodies idea of a custom piece or mangle back in the day .
Just jumped right out at me and thought I would share it.

I'm pretty sure it was factory made as is.

Re: Shellpuller ID
The top and bottom bolsters look like they match to me. There's a brass plating or something that is worn or flaked off in places on both with silver showing through underneath. Just my opinion.
Re: Shellpuller ID
Ever seen one before like this Bill ?
Luke it does look like it has been together quite a while .The scales are throwing me aswell ,they look like something from some Spanish knives I have seen over the years but most of these were leverlocks . .
An odd knife for me ,but it has something about it .
