There is a list somewhere here but probably hasn't been posts in awhile but I could be wrong. Good ones comes to mind but I could be wrong about that too. Someone will come along and fill you in. You might try the search for good ones. Old thread so good luck.

The old "good ones list" is over 20 years old (hard to believe it has been that long ago).

A few are still around but most have passed on or long gone.

For what it's worth, here is my personal "Good and Bad" list. I have purchased from all of these vendors.

GOOD

perryknifeworks.com

leescutlery.com

myswitchblade.com

I placed an order for two knives from myswitchblade.com once, and a day later I received an email telling me that they pulled one knife from my order because they discovered it was defective. I found that encouraging. Of course several Frank Beltrame knives I purchased from them did have flaws. I can only assume that the "defective" one was REALLY bad.

nicnac.net/Horizon Bladeworks

I placed an order for a knife, my card was charged, then a very nice woman called me and told me that they had made a mistake, that the knife I ordered was actually out-of-stock, so she gave me a choice between a full refund, or they could send me a more expensive version of the knife I had ordered at no extra cost. So I chose the more expensive knife, and they sent it to me. I call that REALLY good customer service.

BAD

directknifesales.com

I Ordered a knife from them, it was clearly defective. Their stated policy is that they provide a full refund for defective knives, but that they charge a 25% restocking fee for all other returns. I explained the clear defects with the knife (warped blade, rear-canted blade, safety could not be moved by hand). After explaining the defects, they told me the knife wasn't defective, that these were characteristics of "hand made" knives. So my only option was a 75% refund. And then I had to contact them multiple times to get them to finally agree to a 75% refund, which I did receive. It shouldn't be such a hassle to get a refund on a defective knife.

There certainly is. Here are some places...

//FTC report
https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/#/assistant

//Internet Crime Complaint Center
https://www.ic3.gov/Home/FileComplaint

//PayPal
If you believe you're on a phishing website, don't enter any information. Instead, all you have to do is copy the site's web address and paste it into an email message; send it to phishing@paypal.com. Our security experts will examine the site and if it's bogus, we'll get it shut down.

//google trust
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... Q/viewform

//google safebrowsing
https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebro ... are/?hl=en

//microsoft
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/su ... site-guest

//cloudflare complaint
https://abuse.cloudflare.com/

The more times complaints are rcvd, the more it hits radar screens. I've been whacking at them every chance I get. Emailing people in investor relations often brings a response. I reached out to a number of the companies being targeted. AGA Campolin was very responsive. Benchmade, Kershaw, etc did not bother. WeKnives (if I recall their name correctly) and Ganzo did. Glad to see them take this seriously.

For a while they were using PayPal on the knife related sites. I reached out to PayPal, who took action and replied. So did Square.

I've noticed a number of the sites that were around in the summer are gone. But these are kudzoo like and they just pop up again with a new url using the same WP theme, SSL provider, host, etc. If a thing is working meaning people make purchases, they will keep at it. If you want to see just how vast this all is, do a gg search for "admin@kayinhome.com." They seem to use multisite and draws common elements such as the PP.

Google and cloudflare as well as the big ISPs have the technology to shut this crap all of the way down. They just need the pressure and the will. That should come from the FBI and FTC. Thinking about it, I am going to call my congressman.

Killgar I'm glad to see Perry Knife Works on your good guys list. Just last night I ordered another Guardian copy from them for a Christmas present for my son. He had liked mine when I got it and has "pocketknife" on his list of wants. I got him the imitation stag version. I'm hoping it's as good as mine and I didn't just get lucky. It's my first time ordering from them. I got mine from BudK, whom I've had decent experience with except they have these particular models at the highest price I've seen them anywhere. It IS the SRP, which I see crossed out next to the discount price on Perry's site, so I wasn't cheated, per se, but I'm used to them having more competitive prices and was kinda disappointed to find out I could've gotten it for substancially less had I shopped around.

Speaking of crooks, many of us remember tizzybe from the old blade auction. I would get emails from Josh about her just trying to make a living and such. Make a better living being honest. Wonder what that old sweat hog is doing now, hopefully feeding worms.
