It seems that a knife maker came up with a very original idea, went to the patent office and registered the old triple folder as his own design .

As I know this exact same design was marketed by the french knife maker Fred Perrin almost 15 years ago as Le Pititri Trifold.
Then came the Case triple-fold and later the Cold steel triple action which I liked most.
Now the same design is maketed as "an amazing idea by Italian master cutler Ottonello Roberto".
I don't know, maybe I'm just misinformed...
