The Russian Shark

Post by leisuresuitbruce »

Hola friends

I used to be a photography buff. I would mostly put my camera on auto so when I would look at photog magazines and see they record the aperture, speed, and film I would feel deficient. Nor do I write down where I got each knife and how much I paid. My kids will not appreciate the lack of direction when they sell my collection.

This was bought from a guy in the Ukraine who was selling for a collector. The collector had 20ish knives on Etsy and I bought 3. Once the war popped off in the Ukraine I asked the guy if he was still alive. Now we converse almost daily. He is a cop in Kryvy Rih. He has an adorable toddler girl and a wife who hates him. Ain't life a bitch.

This knife is such a work of craftsmanship and what a unique specimen. I named it 'the shark' for obvious reason. It opens with a Tip Lock and it closes with a lever. Beautiful combination of brass and steel. Too bad we'll never know if these were really made in Russian prisons (maybe even gulags).

Enjoy
Bruce
