Lever lock info
Does anyone have any information about the cloverleaf mark on this “abused” Solingen lever lock? It doesn’t look like the Morley and Sons’ cloverleaf mark. Thanks

Re: Lever lock info
First of all, welcome to the forum Millern. I'm a collector of German leverlocks and have seen quite a few stamps, but do not consider myself an expert, or walking tang stamp encyclopedia. That cloverleaf pattern is one I have not seen so I can't help with its identification. What I can say is that it is not a common stamp.
The rear stamp appears to be the remnant of Solingen over Germany but you probably know that. The condition of the knife is common and frustrating to collectors. These old knives were made to be used and are all too often found to have been used and used and used...

Re: Lever lock info
Thanks, Jim!
I appreciate the info. As far as having been “used and used”, I had to completely disassemble the knife to address its severe “blade peek” issue. I also had to make a new lower handle scale on the lever side. ( I made it from some mesquite and stained it as best I could to match the dark bone. ) There wasn’t much I could do about the grinder marks on the blade. At least I didn’t have to replace any springs!

It certainly seems that you are no newcomer to the knife world Millern. Feel free to share any of your other knives, insight, or information.

That was a well used knife. Wish it could tell the stories
