Re: Is anyone else NOT fond of serrations on their carry knife?
In general, I'd say no. . . . .never on a stiletto.
but one of my favorite carry knives has them.
and they are nice for boxes and stripping electric wire.

I have the identical knife Jerry. Not a good design for every day carry. Without a safety, mine popped open in my pocket and sliced my leg pretty good. The thing is as sharp as a razor.

Is that a Benchmade Spike knockoff?
I like serrations. I fish and monofilament is really slick. The teeth help with the grip of the line.

Here is my new Benchmade that I really like. You are correct Allen. Benchmade Spike knock off. Made very well. I find the serrations helpful for lots of every day tasks.fastr19 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:10 pmIs that a Benchmade Spike knockoff?

Yes, it's a knock-off spike. . . it is one without a safety.
I peeled the camo shrink-wrap off. . .and filed the button down flush.
It does not "pop" open anymore.
(photo is of another unmangled one, I think I have about 4 somewhere.)
the one with a filed down button has blue paint on it.
I mangle stuff all the time. (used to mangle. fingers no longer work well)
Filing button flush with the handle
means you use you fingernail to push it below to fire it.
It won't fire with a soft fleshy thumb press.
Here is a close-up of a single action OTF tanto Microtech clone
I removed the ugly pocket clip, filed the button flush,
and was fooling with carving the aluminum body, engraving, ( I suck at engraving )
but it made a nice knife to pocket.
No safety, , ,and it will not fire in your pocket.
it's 3:59 am, can't sleep, legs hurt . . .nurse changed dressings today. . still stings

I like plain blades too ! I used a non auto copy of the spike for years as my fishing knife !

I like what you have done with the Halo clone.jerryk25 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 7:52 am Yes, it's a knock-off spike. . . it is one without a safety.

I'd like to find a HALO or HALO clone that I could use as an EDC knife. In a carry pouch, it could prove convenient.

This looks decent. Not a SA but a DA.Fishtail Picklock wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 5:01 pm I'd like to find a HALO or HALO clone that I could use as an EDC knife. In a carry pouch, it could prove convenient.

Thanks, Jackalope. I saw that. I wish that I could drop that on it right now, but it just isn't in the cards.

Jeff that is a single action knife and it is certainly not a Nemesis IV. The seller should drop that from his sales pitch.
