I think that this will be a great carry knife here on the farm (among the others). 8) :P

Thanks, I like it. (I was looking for a medium-to-large "pocket auto" with a useful blade profile). The ATS-34 Hitachi-made steel is a "hit. The curved, razor-sharp blade, and useful clip-point is what sold me the knife. Couple these with the great engineering and we have a winner!

I never liked the rubber "non slip" inserts and you probably won't either. They attract dirt and junk.

A bit of Dawn Dishwashing liquid and water should clean them well enough to keep them in proper shape.

Rubbing alcohol works too.

Is that rust or blood on the blade?

Thank you, John. After a bit of research I discovered that the inserts are made from Neoprene. You are correct. a bit of rubbing alcohol should clean them up quite nicely.

The blade is made from ATS-34 Stainless Steel the smudges on the blade appear to be some sort of tar or resin. I believe that Hydrogen Peroxide, Acetone, or some other petroleum distillate may remove the stain(s).

The knife arrived today and a bit of scrubbing with Dawn dishwashing detergent removed most of the stains. A few passes on my Sharpmaker brohgt a keen edge to the Hitachi ATS-34 Stainless Steel blade. The Neoprene inserts don't bother me at all and the knife is just the right size for a "larger" pocket-carry auto. These knives currently selling for $247.95 or so on one of the sites selling higher-end automatic knives.

I paid $119.00 for a "slightly imperfect" specimen. (Not a big deal). This excellent auto is well worth the "price of admission". 8)

Thanks, Tom. The edges of the handle and blade are rounded and of a soft, sand-blasted/satin finish. This virtually eliminates "hot spots" when working with the knife. It is a first-rate cutting implement. Above all else, it is a "tool" rather than just a "play-pretty" or "show" knife.

It is the very reason that I'm already quite fond of the blade. (A no-nonsense "workhorse" of a knife that happens to look damned good doing it)!

If anyone is interested, Nic-Nac Knives have some of the Bat Cave Sendoa Auto Knives for sale. These run about $250 and not all of them have the Neoprene inserts. (Some have wooden inserts instead). If you're looking for a true "workhorse" of an automatic knife, this is it.

I really think that this was a great purchase.
