Stamp ID

Post by TexasRed »

Anyone seen this one (the stamp) before? If so, can you provide some info please. Thinking about purchasing. It is an 18cm swivel.

It seems to be a factory stamp to my untrained eye. From which? Anyone's guess.

It's a Beltrame. Is that one a slip-joint or is the locking pin just not visible behind the bolster? I have seen a few Beltrame slip-joints but I think they had a lower case 'b' over Rostfrei.

.

Red ~ How about a few more photos? I'd be interested to see the scales and other details.
Are the guards lined? How old do you think this piece is? It's an interesting find....

Here’s Frank’s timeline for stamps:

1960-70 BV&F was used by Frank's father

Before 1996 Frank's old tang stamp was lower case b (capital letter "B" was used by Renzo B)

1996 to 2004 Frank used Stiletto Italy (AB Cutlery in 1996 also used Stiletto Italy. So, it is difficult to know for sure for 3-4 years)

2003-2004 Frank started using Frank B

Would this be considered the lower case "b"?

Yeah, I think that is the stamp I have seen on the slip-joint ones. Is that one a slip-joint?

I never saw one with the Germany stamp but I think they were made for the German market.

I'm not very familiar with slip-joint. I actually thought it was a term with manual knives lol. But, here's the entire knife, in case that helps. Just a regular 8", full blade length that matches the body...
