You mean the liners? Lol, that is just the liners from a Rizzuto I had sitting in my parts box. I just posted that so you could see the D-stamps.

As for the guards, those are the later stamped one-piece bolsters. The flat guards are real flat, like as flat as the underside of the guards.

I still wanted to see the pic looking in the handle as I wanted to see if it had a dovetail spring (thought I would guess it doesn't).

Here is a regular slip-in spring on the left and a dovetail on the right. Notice the separating line for the dovetail is much lower. You can also see a fltaguard next to a stamped bolster.

Getting back to the original post, I know there are “Inox” stamps from Italy, but what about the ones with “Inoxid” and no Italy? Were they made in other countries?

The knife does look like it has the cut-out. "D stamped".

Can you get one more pic looking inside the bottom half of the knife?

Guys, let's try to keep the thread drift down.
Drumdog-perhaps you could start your own thread instead of taking this one over.

No problem…I am a member of a completely unrelated vintage guitar site. The moderators on that site encourage us to keep similar thread topics together to limit the number of threads on the same topic. I saw the INOXID reference and thought I would find some folks who would have some knowledge about it. But I completely understand, and would be glad to start my own thread. My apologies…

I have looked at the knife posted for sale several times and something seems different than the Coricamas before 1958. A well-known and long-time collector looked at it and said it is from the 1960s and was made in South America. The spelling of stainless steel "Inoxid" and the lack of a stamp saying "Italy" or "Made in Italy" makes sense, so my question is now this:
Is " Coricama - Made in Italy" and "Coricama - Inoxid" the same people and company?
When did one stop and the other one begin?
Please contribute your thoughts and opinions.

The knife was not made in South America, but it could very well have been sold there.
I have seen many similar knives being sold from countries in South America.
Don't put too much stock in markings.

Thanks for your reply Bill. Is it fair to say it was from the 1960s?
