Lol.Edwin Jay is 11 inch and the flatguard was about 10 3/4. Old flatguards were odd sizes. The flatguard did not loose it’s tip. The blade went to the end of the handle.

Why do all 3 of the automatics pictures have what appears as misaligned safety buttons. I have seen it so many times now that it must have been intentional, or due to the way they were manufactured?

The older stilettos had safeties that was a piece of flat brass with a little tab bent over for the safety cap. When all the connecting area for the NS button was off to one side, they usually ended up with a safety that was more to that side than in the middle.
