Sear isn't engaging in hole deep enough to hold it closed. Could be the sear is worn or damaged. Scales or liners could be twisted from warpage or temperature changes.

A button return spring problem may be added to the possible causes I "think". Basically just like Whippersnapper said, that the spring isn't lifting the button up high enough for the sear pin to sit in the hole properly.

Jules is right imo,

PS- Something tells me the Dr already knew all this. Maybe I'm wrong but recently seems like there is a hidden agenda in some of the recent posts....lol
