Weren't some were chambered in .32 rimfire?...You said it was a centerfire didn't you Gunsmith?

Yep. Some older and less expensive shotguns did not have extractor. Sometimes the shells would get hard to remove, so they added shell extractor “claws” to picket knives. Kinda a shotgunners multi-tool.

This knife was designed as a hunter/trapper knife.
The gun was used to kill trapped animals.
